Felien Laureys

Felien Laureys is Master in de Sport- en Bewegingswetenschappen, richting sporttraining en coaching (2017, UGent) en Doctor in de gezondheidswetenschappen (2022, UGent). Haar doctoraat kaderde binnen talentontwikkeling bij jonge kinderen, waarin ze zich specifiek focuste op de ontwikkeling van de cognitieve en psychologische vaardigheden die jonge, beloftevolle atleten nodig hebben om uiteindelijk een topatleet te worden. Naast onderzoeker, is ze ook zelf actief als coach binnen de competitiesport.

Begin 2023 startte ze als onderzoeker binnen de Expertisecel Toegepaste Forensische Psychologie bij Thomas More hogeschool. Ze ondersteunt mee een project rond geweld en grensoverschrijdend gedrag bij (volwassen) atleten, binnen het expertisedomein van Tine Vertommen. Naast haar werk bij Thomas More, verricht ze ook onderzoek binnen hetzelfde thema aan de Universiteit Gent.
